PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HOSTS HOLY WEEK SERVICES

 

COMMUNITY INVITED TO JOIN IN WORSHIP

 

    The week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday is traditionally known as Holy Week. It is the week that marks the significant events of Jesus Christ from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to his crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Once again First Presbyterian Church of Malvern will host the Malvern Community Holy Week Services. This is a series of mid-day worship services with a variety of local ministers participating. This year the church has invited five ministers from the community to come and preach.

    Rev. Courtney Bacon-Latina of First Presbyterian Church will lead an Maundy Thursday evening service with communion by candlelight. This service commemorates Christ’s last meal with his disciples.

 

    These midday services are designed to fit into the “lunch hour” to accommodate the working people of the community. The services will begin at 12:05 p.m. each day and last for about 30 minutes, with a sandwich luncheon provided AT NO CHARGE by the Presbyterian Women immediately following the service.

 

    First Presbyterian Church has been serving the community of Malvern in the name of Jesus Christ for 134 years.
